The Red Green Show was a skit-sitcom comedy that aired on CBC Television in Canada and on PBS in the U.S. from 1991 until the series finale in 2006. Reruns currently air on CBC, The Comedy Network, and various PBS stations. It was produced by S&S Productions, which is owned by Steve and Morag Smith, and directed by William G. Elliott. The title character, Red Green (Steve Smith), is a lazy handyman who generally tries to find shortcuts to most of his projects, trusting the vast majority of his work to duct tape. He is the president of the Possum Lodge, a men's club in the small town of Possum Lake. The Red Green Show was produced first by CHCH in Hamilton, Ontario, then by CFPL in London, then by the Global Television Network, before finally finding its permanent home on CBC for the 1997 season onward. The show was renamed The New Red Green Show upon its move to Global, and would keep this title until its second season at CBC. Regular characters includes Red's nephew, Harold (Patrick McKenna), Bill Smith (Rick Green), Ranger Gord (Peter Keleghan), Hap Shaughnessy (Gordon Pinsent), Dougie Franklin (Ian Thomas), Dalton Humphrey (Bob Bainborough), Winston Rothschild (Jeff Lumby), Edgar Montrose (Graham Greene) and Mike Hamar (Wayne Robson). Other characters include Ben Franklin (Dave Thomas), Buzz Sherwood (Peter Wildman), Bob Stuyvesant (Bruce Hunter), Ed Frid (Jerry Schaefer) and Kevin Black (Paul Gross). Unseen characters were Old Man Sedgwick, Moose Thompson, Stinky Peterson, Junior Singleton, Buster Hadfield, and Flinty McClintock. Duct Tape Forever (2002), was based on The Red Green Show.
